Introducing the natural pedig

Rattan is a product of a vine palm called rattan or reed. There is more than 600 species of rattan, but only two or three species are used to produce pedigo. Many variations and designs of pedig

The highest quality rattan hides in the central part from which the pedig is made. With a rattan of this quality, it's a pleasure to weave a pastry basket, a laundry basket, and lots of other beautiful things. Pedig is sold in many diameters, cross-sections and you can even get rattan with regard to the strength of the material. Rattan round bars are sold from a strength of 1 mm to 10 mm. Rattan, as a material you can buy in many colour variants, but thanks to its absorption you can dye it yourself.

Before you even start weaving, remember to soak the pedig in lukewarm water. It'll be flexible and won't crack. However, do not leave it soaked for too long - there is a risk that the pedig will turn grey and break. Then dry the pedig well and you can start creating!
